We are delighted to be able to welcome guests back to Upper Kingston Farm Cottages after the lock-down. As you will understand , the new cleaning and safety protocols have to be put in place to ensure your safety and that of our staff.
There will be several changes here at Upper Kingston
- Cottages will only be available after 4.00 pm and departure on the Friday must be by 09.00 am at the latest to enable us to deep clean the cottages
- Only one person to enter the Laundry room at any one time to ensure social distancing & all touch points to be wiped down after use.
- There will be laundry bags in each cottage and we ask that you strip all the beds and put the bed linen in them. All towels to be left on the floor in the shower.
- The bbq’s will not be available.
- The freezer will be moved to a more accessible position.
- An iron and ironing board will be available on request.
Cleaning
We will be using a two-step cleaning schedule. Before you arrive, once the cleaning is finished to its usual high standard, we then go round again, sanitising everything with an approved disinfectant. Particular care will be taken to ensure “high touch” areas are not missed –light switches, remote controls, door handles, rails, keys etc., We will be using an Antiviral Disinfectant tested to BS EN 14476, as well as Hibiscrub and bleach.
Being rural, we are NOT on mains drainage, but have our own water and sewage treatment plant. This is very efficient and environmentally friendly, and generally works brilliantly, producing water clean enough to go into a watercourse, but it does need to be managed properly. It is REALLY IMPORTANT that you only use the hand soaps, and cleaning agents that we supply for you to use. Everything we supply is septic tank friendly and we ask that you don’t take them home with you because we can sanitise them and refill them for future guests to use.
Covid Care
While it is reassuring to know that the science now seems to be saying that contacting Coronavirus from touch is low risk – https://on.today.com/2LWcwiA the advice is still to maintain social distancing, wash your hands frequently (or use hand sanitiser where washing isn’t possible) and use masks and gloves when in enclosed areas where social distancing is difficult.
Dishwasher
We are required to re-wash all crockery and cutlery between changeovers and it would be really helpful if you could fully load the dishwasher and set it running before leaving. Please leave the clean dishes in the dishwasher so that we know that batch has been done. Many thanks.
If You Fall Ill During Your Stay.
If you or a member of your party develops symptoms of Coronavirus during your stay, it is important that you let us know as soon as possible. There is a different set of procedures that applies in the event of a suspected actual case at a site that we would need to follow.
We hope that you will have a fabulous holiday. The new “normal” may be different to what we are all used to, but it is great to be able to get away again, and if we all take responsibility for minimising risk, then hopefully we won’t get locked down again.
If you have any questions, please call us – landline 01425 474466.
We are happy to announce we have acquired the Industry Standard ‘Good To Go’ mark. This means we have followed government & industry Covid-19 guidelines. We have a Risk Assessment in place and a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.
